What's it About?

The purpose of Sikhtalk is to provide an avenue for Sikh youth to comfortably ask their questions and have them answered in a confidential manner.

We offer various mediums to ask these questions (including email and instant messaging), and supply honest answers from our open-minded volunteers.

Sikhtalk is comprised of volunteers who are not licensed Psychiatrists or Psychologists. Therefore, Sikhtalk cannot answer questions pertaining to emotional trauma, relationship advice, or other questions that may require professional assistance.

What's our Privacy Policy?

At Sikhtalk we recognize the importance of privacy in creating a comfortable setting to ask questions. This page outlines the types of personal information we receive and collect when you use our services, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard information. We hope this will help you make an informed decision about sharing personal information with us. And remember your personal information will never be shared with anyone outside of Sikhtalk - We promise.

Questions do not require a name, however, the email address we reply to might have your name or initials in it. If that bothers you, try to use a different email address that you remember to check. Also, if you email Sikhtalk directly (without going through the form on this website) your name will show up because of the way modern email hosts like Yahoo!, Hotmail, or Gmail work.

The questions asked to Sikhtalk are kept on file, but are never shared with anyone outside the group. Questions asked over 6 months ago are usually deleted to ensure a greater security. Sikhtalk takes extra steps to make sure your name is not recorded through our form on the home page, and guarantees that it's members answer in an unbiased fashion to any email addresses. Sikhtalk also promises that it's members will not look up people using their email addresses, and of course Sikhtalk will not send spam to any email addresses on file.

Disclaimer: The views expressed by Sikhtalk are an attempt to provide an educated response to Sikh youth. Not all topics have a right or wrong answer, so we can't guarantee a perfect response. Also, we are not trained Psychologists or Psychiatrists and cannot answer questions requiring professional assistance.
